Police: Meth organization dismantled in Vigo County

Five suspects arrested

TERRE HAUTE — Five people face criminal charges after police dismantled an alleged methamphetamine organization in Vigo County, according to an Indiana State Police news release.

On Saturday, State Police with the assistance of the Drug Enforcement Agency and the Vigo County Drug Task Force completed a four-month investigated that resulted in five people arrested for class-A felony dealing methamphetamine.

Arrested were 35-year-old Marcus McKinley Pizzola, 32-year-old Stacy L. Holden, 48-year-old Jon Bryan, all of Terre Haute; and Robert E. Richey, 54, and Steven Scank, 42, both of West Terre Haute.

Police report that Pizzola was obtaining 4-pound quantities of crystal meth twice a month from multiple sources in Atlanta. He then was allegedly bringing the drug to Vigo County for distribution by mid-level and street-level dealers.

During the past eight months, Pizzola distributed more than 50 pounds of meth, police report, as well as marijuana imported from Georgia.

When police served four search warrants Saturday in Vigo County, they seized about 4 pounds of meth, about $12,000 in cash, 5 pounds of suspected marijuana and 12 firearms.

A vehicle driven by Pizzola was stopped on U.S. 41 near Pimento in Vigo County as he returned from the Atlanta area. During the traffic stop, police found about 3 1/2 pounds of meth and 1 pound of marijuana; Pizzola was arrested.

The estimated street value of 50 pounds of methamphetamine is $1.1 million. The estimated street value for 4 pounds of marijuana is $16,000.

The investigation is ongoing, police report, and additional criminal charges are pending.
