TERRE HAUTE —
Two Honey Creek Middle School students — an eighth-grader and a sixth-grader — were arrested today on a class-D felony charge of false informing.
Vigo County School Corp. Supt. Dan Tanoos and Clark Cottom, chief deputy sheriff of the Vigo County Sheriff’s Department, spoke at a midafternoon news conference, providing details on the incident.
The two, who are brothers, told a school safety officer at the middle school that they had heard a bomb was in the building. Police, after an investigation of the threat, concluded it was a hoax; however, officers did a secondary search of the school as a precaution.
