Over the past few weeks, we have been featuring names from the Gold Star Honor Roll: those people from the Indiana counties of the Wabash Valley who perished in WWI. This week’s completes the listing for Vigo County.

The book, “Gold Star Honor Roll: A Record of Indiana Men and Women who Died in the Service of the United States and the Allied Nations in the World War, 1914-1918,” is a valuable resource for genealogists. The book is not only a tabulation of names but a listing of the person’s rank, his/her birth date and place of birth, parents’ names, date killed, where killed, cause of death, where interred, plus a short biographical sketch and a photo.

This book can be searched on Ancestry at search.ancestry.com/search/db.aspx?dbid=5182. If you have an e-reader, this is a free Google e-book and can be acquired at books.google.com/books/about/Gold_Star_Honor_Roll.html?id=48sMAAAAYAAJ. Or the entire book can be read on your computer or downloaded and saved as PDF file at the Allen County Public Library Archive website at archive.org/details/gold
