TERRE HAUTE —

Query

Seeking information on Lucretia Fleming/Lucretia Waugh, who was living in Butler County, Pennsylvania, until 1920, when she appears in Wilkinsburg, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, working as a stenographer for an electrical company. She then seems to disappear until her death, reported by the Social Security Death Index in Vigo County, Indiana, in 1981, listed with her maiden name of Fleming.

“Find a Grave” has a Crete T. Waugh Fleming buried in the Stewart Lawn Cemetery in Terre Haute, Vigo County. This Crete has the same birth year as Lucretia and the same death year as listed on the SSDI. Crete’s grave stone has the inscription: “MOTHER.” Is this my Lucretia? Also buried in the Stewart Lawn Cemetery is a Charles Isom Waugh. Could the two be related? Lucretia was my fourth cousin, and we both descend from Alexander Negley (1734-1809), of Pittsburgh, Pa. Willing to share information. Would appreciate any information on this person. Please contact Bill Muller at muller1938@gmail.com.
