GENEALOGY: Owner of CyndisList.com to discuss online tools

TERRE HAUTE — The Indiana State Historical Society is presenting a unique opportunity for Hoosier genealogists in March.

Genealogist and author Cyndi Ingle, owner and webmaster of CyndisList.com, will present “Genealogy Online: Productive, Organized and Successful” from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 22 in the Frank and Katrina Basile Theater at the History Center. Ingle will discuss a wide variety of online tools, including social networks, databases and record repositories. She will also discuss how to stay organized and write effective notes and correspondence.

Go through the process of creating a research plan using online tools and services such as Evernote, Ancestry, FamilySearch, Cyndi’s List and more. Learn how to keep organized and on task, as well as how to write effective communications and research notes.

Ingle has been a genealogist for more than 33 years and is the author of three books for genealogical research on the Internet and a past member of the board of directors for the National Genealogical Society.

The fee for the workshop is $40 for non-IHS members and $32 for IHS members. This price also includes parking and a visit to the Indiana Experience at the museum. In addition, a box lunch can be purchased for $12. Register online at www.indianahistory.org/genealogy-online-productive-organized-and-successful, or call 317-232-1882.

The address for the History Center is 450 W. Ohio St., in downtown Indianapolis.
