PREP ROUNDUP: Marshall beats Olney; Linton stays unbeaten

OLNEY, Ill. — The visiting Lions won their second game of the week and evened their Little Illini Conference mark at 2-2 with Friday's 51-38 Little Illini Conference victory over Olney.

Marshall scored the first basket of the game and held a 9-8 lead after one period of play.

The host Tigers led by as many as five points in the second stanza but the Lions had a 19-18 advantage at the intermission.

They took a 32-29 lead into the final frame and scored the first 10 points of the last period to take control of the contest.

Taylor Maurer led the 6-3 Lions with 16 points while Thomas Sisson tallied 13, getting seven in the final frame.

Austin Karazsia led the Miners with 30 points. Brodie Crowe paced the Lakers with 20.

n Rockville 58, South Putnam 42 — At Putnamville, the Class A No. 2 Rox played their first in-state road game of the season and took care of the Eagles. The Rox improved to 6-0 and will next play host to Frankton on Dec. 22.



n Eastern Greene 71, Union 19 — At Cincinnati, Ind., Class 2A No. 6 Eastern overwhelmed the Bulldogs in a SWIAC game. Union fell to 0-7.



n Casey 68, Red Hill 37 — At Bridgeport, Ill., the Warriors remained undefeated with another road victory Friday.

Brandon Wolfe led Casey with 19 points.

The Warriors will entertain Flora on Tuesday in what should be a battle of unbeaten Little Illini Conference teams.

n Riverton Parke 56, South Vermillion 21 — At Clinton, Paige Yando had 22 points as the Class A No. 7 Panthers defeated the Wildcats on Friday.

The South boys won 149 1/2 to 39 1/2 over the Mustangs as Collin McCord, Christian Wilhelm, Josh Ford, Dalton Mitchell and Chandler Bray won multiple events.
