PREP ROUNDUP: West Vigo tennis improves to 11-1 overall, 2-0 in WIC

WEST TERRE HAUTE — West Vigo improved to 11-1 on the season and 2-0 in the Western Indiana Conference with a 5-0 win against South Vermillion.

Kyle Watson, Blake Benefiel and Logan Benefiel picked up two-set victories at singles for the Vikings.



Singles — Kyle Watson (WV) def. Ben Cvengros(SV)  6-3, 6-0; Blake Benefiel (WV) def. Cole Morgan 6-2, 6-0; Logan Benefiel (WV)  def. Ryan Scott 6-4, 6-2.

Doubles — Tyson Tolerson-Padan Horsley (WV) def. Aaron Hznes-Kam Weyrauch 6-3, 6-3; Grant Kirby-Michael Vermillion (WV) def. Dalton Bogetto-Joey Vermillion 6-2, 6-2.

JV — West Vigo 5, South Vermillion 2.

Next — West Vigo (11-1, 2-0 WIC) will play host to Linton today. South Vermillion plays host to Sullivan today.

n Clovers win — At Rea Park, Cloverdale defeated West Vigo 216-251 in girls golf on Tuesday.

Harlee Fuetter shot 49 for the Clovers to be medalist. Hannah Harden led West Vigo with 57 in the final home match for the Vikings.
