PREP ROUNDUP: Northview takes tennis sectional title

BRAZIL — Northview defeated South Vermillion 4-1 in the championship match of the Northview Sectional for boys high school tennis Saturday.

The Knights (15-5) will advance to the Crawfordsville Regional, where their next match will be at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday.

• Yorktown wins — At Franklin, Yorktown took team honors and Kelly Grassell was medalist in the IHSAA girls state finals concluded Saturday at The Legends Course.

Yorktown shot 625 to win its second state championship. Carmel was second with 639 and Noblesville took third with 651.

Chesterton’s Grassell took medalist honors with a record 7-under-par 137 score, shooting 69 and 68. Katherine Sharp of East Noblesville took second with 139.

Cloverdale senior Sydney Shrum tied for 22nd with 157.
