Branz picks up ninth win of season for Wildcats

BRAZIL — Jordan Branz won his ninth game of the season, scattering six hits over eight innings to lead South Vermillion to a 4-3 victory at Northview in a Western Indiana Conference battle.

The Wildcats are now 4-0 in the WIC as Branz also drove in the winning run in the top of the eighth, smacking a triple to score Tyler Smith from first base.

Highlights — For South Vermillion, Jordan Branz went 3 for 4 with a triple, and Tyler Smith had two hits. For Northview, Newton and Clark had doubles.

• Rockville 7, Riverton Parke 5 — At Rockville, Rockville’s Brandon Cooper singled in the lead two runs with two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning of this Wabash River Conference matchup.
