PREP ROUNDUP: North slips past Northview in eight-inning baseball game

TERRE HAUTE — Colton Pittman drew a bases-loaded walk to score Zach Milam with the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning as host Terre Haute North edged Northview 8-7 in high school baseball Thursday at Jennings Field.

The win makes North 2-0 in the rain-delayed Big Four Tournament.

Highlights — For North, Zach Milam went 2 for 4 and scored the winning run on Colton Pittman’s bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the 8th inning, Pittman also went 2 for 4 with a triple, Gabe Sevigny went 2 for 5, Lane Dransfield tripled and Nick Long doubled and knocked in 2 runs. For Northview, Nate Newton doubled twice and Connor Pierce and Joe Ball also doubled.

• West Vigo 19, North Vermillion 0 — At Cayuga, Kevin Stewart pitched a five-inning no-hitter, brother Kyle Stewart knocked in four runs with the help of two doubles and Derrick Bennett bashed a three-run homer for the visiting Vikings.
