PREP ROUNDUP: North girls basketball game postponed

TERRE HAUTE — The girls high school basketball game between Terre Haute North and Indianapolis North Central scheduled for Thursday night in Indianapolis was postponed by snowy weather.

A new date has not been determined yet.



In girls high school basketball played Thursday:

• Linton 44, Shoals 42 — At Linton, the host Miners chalked up their first victory of the season.

Mercedes Shafford had 14 points and Avaree Dunn added 10 for the winners. Shoals’ top scorer was Caitlin Sanders with 17 points.

Tuesday

• Greencastle 45, Northview 39 — At Greencastle, Callan Taylor tallied 21 points — with the help of 10 free throws and three 3-pointers — and Jessica Lenihan added 10 points to lead the host Tiger Cubs to victory.

Northview’s scoring information was not provided. The Knights (4-8) will return to action Jan. 4 at Owen Valley.

Greencastle (8-5) will be at home Dec. 29, also to face Owen Valley.
