Coaches’ quotes — Ridge on his squad: “We did not play well in the North game last week, so we tried to make some improvements when we had a chance to practice this week.”
Ridge on playing the Giants: “They’re good. They’re big, strong, athletic, about what you’d expect from a school that size. We’ll have to play well to win.”
Ridge on playing the Panthers: “They’re having a lot of success so far this year. They move the ball well. They shoot the ball well. We’ll have to play great defense to have a chance.”
James on his squad: “We’ve been struggling. We either play really well or really poor. … We’ve been struggling with shooting a little bit.”
James on playing the Braves: “They play a lot of kids. They’ve got some good players. I know they’ve struggled with the same things that we have.”
Adams on his squad: “I really like my team, but it’s been frustrating [because of the weather]. Our corporation lets us have voluntary practice [when school is not in session, but sometimes kids aren’t able to get there]. But we’ve had our moments: we’re 10-4, and in all our losses we’ve had the ball with a chance to win it in the last minute.”
Adams on playing the Braves: “They’re a lot like we are. They play a lot of juniors who have been very capable. If you don’t show up to compete, they present a lot of problems.”
