PREP ROUNDUP: Sullivan girls clinch Western Indiana Conference title

TERRE HAUTE — Sullivan’s girls high school basketball team locked up the Western Indiana Conference championship with a 60-30 victory against Owen Valley.

Calean Jones had a fantastic game at both ends with 16 points and 11 steals for the Golden Arrows.

Rhagen Smith added 15 points for the Golden Arrows.

• Marshall 50, Robinson 19 — At Robinson, Ill., Kaydie Grooms had 26 points, eight rebounds and seven steals and Cheyenne Thompson had 12 points as Marshall wrapped up an unbeaten Little Illini Conference season.

Ariana Kuhn added six rebounds, six assists, five blocks and five steals for the Lions. Kyndal Mendenhall led Robinson with eight points.

• Marshall 64, Cumberland 31 — At Toledo, Ill., the Lions won their fourth game in a row and 18th of the season Friday night.

Marshall ran off 14 straight points in the first period in the Little Illini Conference contest and had a 29-8 lead after eight minutes. The Lions were up 42-12 and took a 54-18 lead into the fourth frame.

Drew Morris had nine points in the first quarter and finished with 14. Taylor Maurer had 13 points, six rebounds and five assists while Walker Berner had nine points — all in the first period — and Keegan Steele tallied eight.
