Sullivan mounts comeback to knock off Vincennes Lincoln

SULLIVAN — Host Sullivan mounted a fourth-quarter comeback Saturday in boys high school basketball, overhauling Vincennes Lincoln 61-56 in a nonconference game.

Brooks Weszely led all scorers with 18 points for the Golden Arrows, who also got 16 points and a game-clinching 3-pointer from Nathan Pirtle plus 12 points from Jake Kinnaman and 10 from MIchael Hutchcraft.

Avory Mickens scored 17 points, Josh Sprinkle 13 and Patrick Toole 10 for the Alices, who had handed Class 3A’s fifth-ranked Mt. Vernon (Posey) its first loss of the season a night earlier.

• Casey 67, Olney 55 — At Casey, Ill., the Warriors finished strong Friday to bounce back from Tuesday’s defeat at Robinson.

Brandon Wolfe led the Warriors with 31 points. Trivette Scales had 20.

Casey is the No. 2 seed in the Little Illini Conference tournament to be played at Casey this week.

Girls basketball

• Marshall 80, Robinson 18 — At Toledo, Ill., Ariana Kuhn had 16 points and six assists and Kaydie Grooms chipped in 16 points to lead Marshall to a victory over Robinson in the Little Illini Conference tournament at Cumberland High School.

Breah Keim added 12 points and five assists for the winners.

Ashlyn Sullivan led Robinson with six points.
