Prep roundup: McKinney’s grand slam leads North softball

TERRE HAUTE — Allie McKinney belted a grand-slam home run, Allison Crick added three hits and Morgan Young pitched a four-hit shutout to help Terre Haute North defeat visiting Turkey Run 17-0 in 41⁄2 innings of high school softball Wednesday.

Highlights — For North, Allie McKinney went 2 for 2 with a grand-slam homer in the 3rd inning and 5 RBIs; Allison Crick went 3 for 4 with a double and 3 runs; Conner Nelson went 2 for 2 with 2 RBIs; and Jazmine Allen contributed a double, 3 RBIs and 3 runs.

Next — North (5-1) will be at home Saturday to take on Bloomington North, with varsity action to start at about 1 p.m.
