PREP ROUNDUP: Green tosses one-hitter to lift Shakamak to 12-1 record

JASONVILLE — Patrick Green tossed a one-hitter with eight strikeouts to help Shakamak improve to 12-1 on the high school baseball season with a 3-0 victory against Northeast Dubois.

The Lakers’ Christian Burris led the Lakers’ offense with two hits.

Highlights — For Shakamak, Patrick Green had eight strikeouts; Brodie Crowe had a double; Christian Burris went 2 for 3 with an RBI and a run scored.

• South Vermillion wins — At Clinton, Kaden Lawson had a double and three RBI for the Wildcats.

• South Putnam outslugs RP — At Mecca, South Putnam came from behind to tie the score, then scored five runs in the ninth inning to beat host Riverton Parke 15-10 in a non-conference high school baseball game.

Riverton Parke (1-12) scored four runs in the sixth inning on a two-run singles by Logan Blacketer, a sacrifice fly by Kaleb Huxford and two South Putnam errors to take a10-6 into the seventh inning.

South Putnam countered with four runs on a double by Grady McHugh, singles by Tyler Long and Justin Bumgardner and two Riverton Parke errors to tie the score 10-10.

In the ninth inning, South Putnam put singles by Jake Carmichael, Nick Scott, Joe Waters and McHugh together with three Riverton Parke errors to earn the victory.

Highlights — For South Putnam, Tyler Long hit a home run, double and single to lead the Eagles’ third win of the season. Nick Scott, the winning pitcher, and Joe Waters each had three singles. For Riverton Parke, Logan Blacketer had two singles to pace the Panthers’ eight-hit offense. Luther Mathas and Kaleb Huxford each had one double.

Next — Riverton Parke (1-12) travels to Vincennes to play in a round-robin tourney at Rivet with North Central. South Putnam (3-8) will host Tri-West on Monday.



• Sullivan 4, Union 1 — At Sullivan, Jarrad Klitz pitched a complete game and Casey Garner and Cody Turner had two hits each for the Golden Arrows on Thursday.
