TERRE HAUTE — Terre Haute South stopped a seven-game skid as the Braves cruised to victory over winless Indianapolis Arlington by a score of 83-22.

On the Braves’ Senior Night, senior Da’Shon Heyen led the Braves with 15 points in an impressive send-off performance before his home crowd.

“It was good for the kids to come out and play well,” Terre Haute South coach Scott Ridge said. “It’s nice to get a win. Both seniors, Jerad Fuson and Da’Shon Heyen, have put in a lot of work over the years, and it was great to see them get them get that recognition.

After building a comfortable 32-11 lead by halftime, the Braves offense came out of the locker room to score 33 points in the third quarter and seal the deal over the Golden-Knights.

Ridge acknowledged the importance of a win like this down the stretch, also voicing his appreciation for Heyen and Fuson for the hard work they’ve put in over the years. Both upperclassmen were honored in a pregame ceremony with other soon-departing Terre Haute South students.

Indianapolis Arlington coach Dustin Oakley noted the mistakes that come with a young team, though remaining proud of his boys despite the loss.

“We are a very young team, with just one active senior on our roster,” said Oakley. “We showed effort though, and will continue to work on our knowledge and decision making, as well as staying positive throughout the course of the game.”
