Wolfe scores 28 to lead Casey into LIC Tournament semifinals

OLNEY, Ill. — The Casey Warriors dominated the second-half action in winning their first game in the LIttle Illini Conference tournament on Saturday, defeating Flora 63-53 to advance to Tuesday's semifinals.

The Warriors and Wolves were tied 16-16 after one period and Casey had a 31-24 advantage at halftime.

The Warriors outscored the No. 5 seed 22-12 in the third canto to take a 53-26 lead into the final eight minutes.

Brandon Wolfe had 13 points in the third quarter and finished with 28 points while Cody Hollensbe came off the bench to add nine points to the winning total.

Casey improved to 12-4 and will face 17-2 Newton in one semifinal contest on Tuesday. Newton nipped Oblong 61-60 in the first game on Saturday.

Robinson met the host Olney team and Marshall took on Lawrenceville in the other game on Saturday's schedule.

Next — Casey (12-4) faces Newton in a semifinal game starting at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Flora (12-5) will play host to Oblong in  a consolation-bracket game on Monday.
