Terre Haute South senior Katherine Senseman finished 11th in the 50-yard freestyle during the IHSAA girls swimming state finals Saturday in the IUPUI Natatorium.
Her time was 23.89 seconds. The first-place time of 22.17 was posted by Carmel’s Amy Bilquist.
In Friday night’s preliminary round, Senseman was the 14th-fastest qualifier in 24.13.
Senseman placed 19th in the 100-yard freestyle, based on her preliminaries time of 52.94 Friday.
Also Friday, sister Rachel Senseman finished 30th in the 100 backstroke in 1:03.09.
South’s 200 freestyle relay squad consisting of Katherine Senseman, Hannah Ater, Alayna Moore and Rachel Senseman placed 17th in 1:40.16 Friday.
And the Braves’ 400 free relay foursome of Katherine Senseman, Ashton Dillon, Brittany Scott and Rachel Senseman came in 24th in 3:40.83 Friday.
As a team, South placed 34th with six points. The top three were Carmel (399), Crown Point (209) and Fishers (203).
