PREP BASEBALL: South Vermillion advances to Monday's sectional final

CLINTON — With a 9-5 high school baseball victory Friday, South Vermillion earned a berth to the championship game of its own Class 2A Sectional.

Cam Weyrauch earned the win and Jordan Branz, who had three hits, picked up the save.

Adam Stultz connected for his fifth home run of the season for the Wildcats.

Highlights — For South Vermillion, Jordan Branz went 3 for 5 with a double and a triple; Nathan Luft 2 for 5 with 2 doubles and 3 RBI; Adam Stultz 2 for 5 with 2 RBI, 3 runs and a home run; and Dalton Bogetto went 2 for 4.

Next — South Vermillion (14-9) plays Monday in the championship game against the Clinton Central.





• Paris wins — At Tolono, Ill., Paris defeated Stanford Olympia 6-3 in Class 2A Sectional action Friday.

The Tigers will meet Monticello for the Tolono Unity Sectional championship today. Game time is 11 a.m. CDT.
