PREP ROUNDUP: South girls pick up win at Warren Central

INDIANAPOLIS — Visiting Terre Haute South hit 28 of 34 free throws to overcome a first-half deficit Saturday and win a Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference game.

Tasia Brewer was 13 for 15 at the line and led all scorers with 17 for South, while Labrea Joyner added 10.

Brianna Jones scored 13 and Tyler Jordan 10 for the Warriors.

• Lawrence North 57, Terre Haute North 50 — At Indianapolis, the visiting Patriots led Class 4A’s seventh-ranked for a half and were within a basket in the final two minutes.

But with Nicole Anderson and Layne Curley sidelined with five fouls, the host Wildcats were able to pull away in Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference play.

Anderson led all scorers with 29 for North, while Mina Cooper and Ana Owens had 14 each for the winners.

Jake Kinnaman had 18 points and Michael Hutchcraft 12 for the Arrows, while sophomore Jordan Meurer led all scorers with 24 for the Warriors.

n Arrows win — At Clinton, Sullivan nipped the host team by seven points to win the eight-team South Vermillion Invitational on Saturday.
