PREP ROUNDUP: Kump's two goals lift West Vigo to WIC victory

WEST TERRE HAUTE — Justin Kump scored two goals in the second half to lead host West Vigo past Owen Valley 2-1 in Western Indiana Conference boys high school soccer Thursday.

Nathan Augustus recorded 15 saves in goal for the Vikings, who jumped ahead 2-0 before holding off the Patriots.

• Northview 3, West Vigo 2 — At Brazil, Northview swept the doubles matches and won a battle of teams previously unbeaten in the Western Indiana Conference.

• Vikings win — At Rea Park, West Vigo broke into the victory column Thursday in Senior Night action.

The Vikings outscored Paris, Ill., 236-262 in their final regular match of the season to get their first victory.

Seniors Olivia Butterman and Elizabeth Favre each shot 58 to lead the winners and share medalist honors. Sophomore Davida Holderman had 59 to lead the Tigers.



West Vigo (236) — Ciara McClain 60, Olivia Butterman 58, Elizabeth Favre 58, Sarah Dugger 60, Heather Prouse 64.
