PREP ROUNDUP: North fourth, South fifth in MIC tennis

INDIANAPOLIS — Terre Haute North placed fourth and Terre Haute South followed in fifth in the Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference championships for boys tennis Saturday at Ben Davis High School’s courts.



MIC championships at Ben Davis

Team scores — Carmel 55, Center Grove 32, Indianapolis North Central 30, Terre Haute North 24, Terre Haute South 17, Ben Davis and Lawrence North 10, Warren Central 2.

North records

Singles — 1. Tate Egan 2-1 (fourth place); 2. Ethan Caldwell 1-2 (fifth); 3. Andrew Farmer 2-1 (third).

Doubles — 1. Alex Farmer-Sam Wolf 1-2 (fifth); 2. Keaton Akers-Justin Newton 2-1 (second).

Next — North will be at home Wednesday to take on Rockville.



South records

Singles — 1. Nathan Bogle 1-2 (fifth place); 2. Krishan Kumar 2-1 (fourth); Scott Kellar 1-2 (seventh).

Jackson Bertoli was second for South in a personal-best time of 15:24 and Logan Hambrock and Spencer Danielson also had a personal-best times for the Braves, who placed behind eight top-12 teams and finished ahead of 14th-ranked Franklin Central and seventh-ranked Lawrence Central.
