Prep Roundup: King and Clapp lead Rockville baseball to 14-1 victory

Rockville Rockville pounded out 11 hits and scored in all four innings they batted to defeat visiting Riverton Parke 14-1 in Wabash River Conference high school baseball Wednesday.

For the Rox, Matt King was 3 for 3 with three runs scored and Zach Clapp was 2 for 4 with a double and five runs batted in.

Highlights — For Rockville, Matt King was 3 for 3 with 3 runs scored; Zach Clapp was 2 for 4 with a double and 5 RBIs; Steven Ball had a double and 2 RBI; Jarrod Clevenger was 2 for 2; Luke Greene had a triple. For Riverton Parke, Cox was 2 for 2 with a double.

For North Vermillion, Hailey Aukerman went 2 for 3 with a double and Bethany Chew added an RBI double.

Next — Rockville (10-5, 9-2 WRC) will play a doubleheader today at Fountain Central.

• Warriors still on top — At Parke County Course in Rockville, Turkey Run shot a 152 in the second round of the Banks of Wabash Classic to increase its lead over four other schools.
