TERRE HAUTE — The National Multiple Sclerosis Society — Indiana State Chapter honored Pam Grimes of Terre Haute with its MS Superstar Nurse of the Year award at its Moving Forward event Nov. 2 in Indianapolis. Grimes was nominated for the award for her dedication to the National MS Society and her unwavering desire to realize a world free of MS.

“Pam Grimes has been an integral part of the MS Movement in the Terre Haute area for more than 10 years,” said Leigh Ann Erickson, chapter president. “During her first year participating in Walk MS, she raised just under $500. This year, Team Grimes surpassed the $22,000 mark. Aside from her outstanding fundraising efforts, Pam leads the Walk MS: Wabash Valley planning committee, working year-round to secure important sponsorships and in-kind donations, coordinate media and awareness activities and recruit participants and volunteers. In addition, she is famous for her handmade cards, raising important awareness and funds for the Society.”

The Indiana chapter names a total of five MS Superstars statewide each year and announces the awards at its annual Moving Forward celebration.
