Skin cancer is next Dine with a Doc topic

TERRE HAUTE — Another free Dine with a Doc lunch event is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on May 22 at the Wabash Senior Citizen’s Center, 300 S. Fifth St.

Dr. Belarmino Frogozo will be the featured speaker on the topic of skin cancer. He will cover types of skin cancers, signs and symptoms, risk factors, treatment and prevention.

Frogozo is board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and by the American Board of Surgery, with certificates of added qualifications in hand surgery. He is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.

He graduated from the University of Santo Tomas, College of Medicine, Manila, Philippines, in 1973. He then completed all his eight years of surgical education in the Detroit Medical Center. He completed his general surgery residency in Harper Grace Hospital.

He has been in active practice in Terre Haute for more than 20 years and is the only full-time plastic surgeon in the Wabash Valley.

Frogozo has published papers on plastic surgery and has been a speaker in plastic and hand surgery to local and statewide medical and civic organizations.

A question and answer period will follow the discussion. A complementary lunch will be provided by Bethesda Gardens. There will be an opening prayer, and veterans will be recognized. Health care providers will be present to share information about services and provide door prizes.

There will also be a wellness clinic to provide attendees blood sugar and blood pressure information. Robin Collins of Springhill Village will facilitate the clinic.
