ISU researcher seeks participants for study on fibromyalgia, diet

TERRE HAUTE — Indiana State University graduate student Megan Fulsom is recruiting 50 women who have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and who would be interested in participating in a 13-week study that would involve eight weeks of diet modification. She can be reached at mvfulsom@sycamores.

indstate.edu. Participants qualify if they have been previously diagnosed with fibromyalgia and:

• do not have any type of diabetes or hypoglycemia

• have not participated in any regular exercise within the past six months

• are not on a renal diet or dialysis

• do not have cancer currently

• are not pregnant or are thinking about becoming pregnant

• are between the ages of 18 and 65

The study is being conducted by Fulsom, principal investigator, and faculty sponsor Lynn Duerr at ISU.

Women interested in participating should contact Fulsom at mvfulsom@sycamores.indstate.edu. Those who work with clients that would benefit from the study is asked to pass along information.
