A free Dine with a Doc event, featuring Lisa Borrero Ph.D., is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday at Providence Housing Corp. All Place in West Terre Haute.
Borrero is an assistant professor of applied health sciences in the College of Nursing, Health and Human Services at Indiana State University.
She has been at ISU since August of 2012 after receiving her Ph.D. in health behavior from Indiana University, Bloomington. Borrero’s research primarily involves the study of aging—gerontology.
Borrero’s topic will be “The Nature and Meaning of Identity in Retired Professional Women.”
A question and answer period will follow her discussion.
Lunch will be provided by Westridge Health Care Center.
Dine with a Doc is a program designed to allow senior citizens to get out of their homes, fellowship with their peers, extend their available financial resources, promote enhanced living, and educate them with the goal of ensuring their quality of life and providing them with the resources and information to make informed decisions.
There will be an opening prayer and devotion at the beginning of the program, and veterans will be recognized for their dedication and service to our country.
Various health care providers will be present to share information about their services and provide door prizes for attendees to win.
