Register March 18 for spring LEAF program

TERRE HAUTE — The Maple Center for Integrative Health will present Wabash Valley LEAF (Lifestyle Education and Food), a similar program to CHIP, previously offered, but half the cost ($199/individual and $375 for two people who share materials).

The program is eligible for reimbursement through flexible spending accounts and medical savings accounts. Sliding scale scholarships are available through the generosity of past participants and a grant from the Wabash Valley Community Foundation.

For more information or to register for the spring Wabash Valley LEAF program, attend the last free information session at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 18, in United Methodist Temple, fellowship hall, at 5301 S. U.S. 41.

LEAF includes two health screens (blood work and measurements before and after), food preparation demonstrations and samples, instructor presentations, instructional materials, DVD-based education and educational tours of local grocery stores. An optional applied nutrition workshop (cooking school) is also offered. Class dates are March 27, April 3, 10, 17, 24, and May 1, 8 and 15.  Commencement date is May 22. Free monthly Alumni Support meetings follow.

The Maple Center for Integrative Health, founded in 2004 in Terre Haute, is dedicated to providing integrative health consultations for all ages and to providing educational programs to empower and enrich men and women alike.

The Maple Center for Integrative Health is in Suite 600 at 1801 N. Sixth St.
