6 weeks of yoga start Saturday

TERRE HAUTE — The Maple Center for Integrative Health, along with certified yoga instructor Tammy Lundborg, will offer a six-week course of therapeutic yoga starting Saturday.

The first session will be from 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday at the HUX Cancer Center lower level, 1711 N. 61⁄2 St., north of Union Hospital. Additional sessions will take place weekly through March 8.

These classes will provide a gentle approach to improve physical conditioning, flexibility and relaxation skills. The program can be completed by anyone. Research has shown that the benefits of yoga include increased flexibility of the neck, back, chest and shoulders; improved physical strength and function; improved quality of life/inner peace; and decreased side effects from chemotherapy.

The fee for all six classes is $60. For more information and to register contact The Maple Center at 812-234-8733 or email Deanna Ferguson at dferguson@the

maplecenter.org. The Maple Center is at 1801 N. Sixth St., Suite 600.
