Crisis Pregnancy Center plans move to new Wabash Ave. spot

TERRE HAUTE — Since opening its doors in 1988, the Crisis Pregnancy Center of the Wabash Valley has delivered its life-affirming message regarding pregnancy through faith-based counseling, education, compassionate care and material aid to more than 40,000 people.

As services and outreach efforts have been enhanced, client numbers have continued to increase, which has led the center to outgrow its current location at 16th and Poplar streets. Seeing the need for expansion on the horizon, CPC leaders began looking at possible relocation options several years ago and are excited to have found space in the new 500 Wabash building at Sixth and Wabash.

The building at 500 Wabash Ave. is scheduled to open in August 2015. The CPC will acquire ownership of 7,000 square feet on the ground floor with premier visibility and access for clients.

The new Crisis Pregnancy Center will combine the current Poplar Street and downtown offices into one location in order to better utilize staff and resources.

Fundraising efforts have yielded $1.25 million to date, reaching 60 percent of the center’s total goal. The CPC is now launching the public phase of the campaign to raise the remaining $832,000 before moving into the building.

The leadership of the CPC wants the organization to be debt-free prior to relocating. To learn more, visit
