TERRE HAUTE — UAP Clinic recently purchased a new C-Arm machine for the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology Athletics Department.

The C-Arm has x-ray capabilities used for fluoroscopic imaging during orthopaedic and emergency procedures.

Dr. Sameer Bavashi, UAP Clinic orthopaedic surgeon and Union Sports Medicine medical director, said this valuable piece of equipment is used regularly. At the recent homecoming game, an athlete on the opposing team had a dislocation that he was able to scan and treat on the spot.

Union Center for Sports Medicine provides comprehensive injury prevention, treatment and rehabilitation for student athletes throughout the Wabash Valley and is the official sports medicine provider for North Vigo, South Vigo, West Vigo, Marshall, Riverton Parke, Rockville and South Vermillion high schools, Rose-Hulman and Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College.
