HEALTH BRIEFS: Nov. 19, 2009
McHappy Day at McDonald’s Friday
This November, participating McDonald’s restaurants in Terre Haute will celebrate McHappy Day at McDonald’s, a worldwide program that raises awareness and funds for Ronald McDonald House Charities and other children’s causes.
Terre Haute-area McDonald’s will celebrate by donating $1 for every breakfast and every beef Extra Value Meal ordered on Friday.
McHappy Day takes place every November in more than 100 countries. As part of the McDonald’s tradition of giving, Terre Haute-area McDonald’s owner/operators, employees and suppliers annually come together to increase awareness and raise funds for Ronald McDonald House Charities and other children’s causes, generating more than $150 million worldwide for children and families in need since 2002.
“McDonald’s restaurants throughout Terre Haute are proud to support McHappy Day to help make a positive impact on the health and well-being of children right here in our own community,” said Jerry Margraf, local McDonald’s owner/operator. “Every year in November, we’re reminded of the generosity this community demonstrates by their participation in our McHappy Day fundraising effort. It’s especially fulfilling to know that we’re directly benefiting our local RMHC Chapter and children in the Terre Haute area.”
