TERRE HAUTE — This past year, a close friend of mine died. Her husband was kind enough to give me her recipes. I was so glad to get them. Jim and Mary went to our church. Jim still does.

She had a lot of recipes to read through and try. When you get recipes from someone who is elder, they are so much fun to make modern. I love doing this. Poor Gene, I make him try everything (my grandkids too). I will try a new recipe on anyone who is willing. This recipe has 7-up in it, but you can use Sprite. I also use diet 7-up. Thanks,  Mary and Jim.

7-Up Pancakes

2 cups Biscuit (Bisquick)

1 egg

1⁄2 cup oil

11⁄2 cup 7-up

• Mix together. Pour into the size you like for pancakes, on a hot griddle. Then enjoy.

Note: What you have left, cook and cool. Then you can freeze. Just pop into a microwave. (Even Gene can heat up a pancake).
