Program to assist diabetes sufferers in what they choose to eat

Purdue University Cooperative Extension Service is offering a program to assist people with diabetes in making proper choices for their diet. The program is offered by the Parke and Vermillion County Extension Offices.
The classes are designed to teach nutritious and delicious ways to prepare meals using less fat, sugar and salt. The Diabetes Cooking School will focus on a different topic in each of the sessions offered.
At the end of the four-session series, each participant will have a complete recipe file and several sources of information on how to revise their favorite recipes. Classes will be on Oct. 23, Oct. 30, Nov. 6 and Nov. 13, from 6 to 8 p.m.. in the Parke County Extension Office Meeting Room in Rockville. Registration is required. The cost is $25.
