Tried 'n' True: Apple Dip perfect for this season

TERRE HAUTE —
This recipe comes from the same Relay for Life cookbook mentioned in this column last week.
The book has great recipes. Every one I have tried so far, we have enjoyed. Lucas Conine is the one to thank for submitting the recipe.
With apples coming into season now, this is a very good dip.
Until this recipe came along, I had always used the fruit dip from last week.
I’ve also tried it using artificial sweeteners so my husband, Gene, can eat the dip. You’ll have to taste it until you get the desired sweetness.
Apple Dip
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
• Mix until smooth.
Notes: Use any type apples, sliced and brushed with lemon juice to prevent browning.
