Tried 'n' True: Use sugar-free items to make this dessert

Illinois cook Geneva Crumrin shared this recipe with me a couple of years ago. I was at her daughter-in-law’s having my hair cut and while visiting, she started talking about this dessert.
She first tried it at a meeting in someone’s home. She couldn’t say enough about it.
It really is good. I use the sugar-free instead of regular pudding and gelatin. This is written the way she gave it to me.

Orange Dessert
1 package vanilla pudding, cooking type
1 package tapioca pudding, cooking type
1 package orange gelatin
• Mix all three together.
• Add 3 cups water.
• Cook to boiling and let cool.
Then add:
1 cup drained mandarin oranges
1 cup drained crushed pineapple
1 quart whipped topping, thawed
• Mix fruit and whipped topping and pudding mixture together.
• Put into a bowl.
• Chill before serving.
