‘Pirates’ to invade Terre Haute Children’s Museum on Saturday

TERRE HAUTE — The Terre Haute Community Band will perform “A Pirate Adventure: The Treasure of Music!” at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Terre Haute Children’s Museum.

The “Pirate Band” will demonstrate their instruments and teach guests how they create music and offer a chance to try the instruments. There will be a flute, clarinet, trumpet, saxophone, violin, drums and gongs, and guests will be able to create a musical instrument to use. All activities are free with museum admission.

The pirate event will be a preview for the volunteer Community Band’s concert “River Pirates and Ruffians,” set for 8 p.m. on June 22 at Fairbanks Park. The concert is free and open to the public, and there will be special children’s activities from the Vigo County Public Library before and during the concert.

The museum is at the corner of Eighth Street and Wabash Avenue. Admission is free for museum members and children 24 months or younger. Regular admission is $7 for adults and children older than 24 months.
