Alabama Street Festival to bring big Nashville names to Brazil

BRAZIL — The 2013 Alabama Street Festival will take place from 4 p.m. to midnight on Saturday at the Alabama Bar & Grill in Brazil.

Go Big Productions has scheduled four bands, three out of Nashville, Tenn., to provide the live music.

Admission to the festival is $10, and proceeds will benefit the Brazil Police Department’s “Shop With A Cop” program. Guests must be 21 or older to attend with valid photo ID. Drink specials and food will be served all night.

The headliner will be JJ Lawhorn, whose first single “Stomping Grounds” was released in the spring. Lawhorn is a singer/songwriter from Virginia who grew up farming, hunting, fishing and writing songs. He signed his first record contract with Colt Ford’s Average Joes Entertainment, and his music is produced by Jeremy Stover (Justin Moore).

Also performing will be the Martin McDaniel Band, veterans of Nashville nightlife. MMB will bring a unique show that includes originals and also covers of artists from Alabama to Maroon 5. Lead singer Martin McDaniel has been dubbed one of Nashville’s best guitar players.

Also at the festival will be Drew Baldridge, a popular new signee to country music songwriting. Originally from Patoka, Ill., Baldridge moved to Nashville to pursue his singing and songwriting. he signed with This Music Publishing which features Nashville writers including Ben Hayslip (“HoneyBee,” “The Only Way I Know”) and Tim Nichols (“Live Like You Were Dying,” “Cowboys and Angels”).

The fourth band on the bill for the festival is Zach Dubois. Dubois was born and raised outside of Elkhart on a family farm.  A 2011 graduate of the University of Notre Dame, Dubois has been touring for three years, playing college towns.
