Meet the Rex this Saturday at Terre Haute Children’s Museum

TERRE HAUTE — Members of the Terre Haute Rex team will help visitors learn about the math and science of baseball at the Terre Haute Children’s Museum on Saturday.

From noon to 1 p.m., guests will learn baseball fun facts and get to participate in a variety of baseball-related activities. Visitors can learn how to keep score and how to throw different types of pitches.

Guests will also participate in some baseball experiments to learn how a baseball reacts in different types of weather and how to find the “sweet spot” of a bat.

In addition, kids under the age of 15 will receive a free ticket to a REX baseball game.

At 1 p.m. Rex team members and staff will participate in a short question and answer session and give special awards to guests who participate in all of the activity stations.

Players will also be available to sign autographs and take photos. Visitors are welcome to bring cameras and their own Rex memorabilia and pens for obtaining autographs.

Terre Haute Rex baseball event is free with admission to the Terre Haute Children’s Museum, which is at Eighth Street and Wabash Avenue in downtown Terre Haute. Regular admission to the museum is $7 for adults and children 2 and older, and admission is free for children up to 24 months. Members of the museum are also admitted for free.

For more information about the museum, visit www.thchildrensmuseum.com or www.facebook.com/terrehautechildrensmuseum, or call (812) 235-5548.
