My brother Mark lives in California. He does a lot of cooking. Both of my brothers are great cooks. (I’m the oldest of all my siblings.) Mark gave me the Bar-B-Que recipe. It took me a year to make it; I didn’t know what Jack Daniels was. I’ve never cooked with liquor. I know the alcohol cooks out. He makes ribs, pork chops, pork roast, on the grill, each Friday and Saturday evening at the Elks or VFW. He uses molasses or honey, whatever he has on hand. Make a day or two ahead of time, so flavor marries. Thanks, Bro.
3⁄4 cup molasses or honey
1⁄2 large onion, minced
4 cloves garlic, minced
3⁄4 cup Jack Daniels
• Simmer 10 minutes, then add rest of ingredients. Stir consistency.
2 - 3 tablespoons liquid smoke
1, 6 oz can tomato paste
• Refrigerate for one to two days for better flavor. Great for grilling
