Country star to return home for ‘Brett Eldredge Day’

Atlantic Records’ Brett Eldredge wraps up the best year yet of his career at the top of Billboard’s Country Airplay Year-End Chart. In a year marked with a series of memorable milestones, the powerhouse vocalist not only had one of the top, most-played country songs with “Don’t Ya,” he also released his debut album, “Bring You Back,” scored his first No. 1 single with “Don’t Ya” and received a CMA nomination for New Artist of the Year.

After just wrapping up his first headlining club tour, Eldredge is scheduled to return to his roots when he is to be honored in his hometown of Paris, Ill., at “Brett Eldredge Day” at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22, at Paris High School.

Eldredge will receive a proclamation from Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn and will also be honored with new town signs reading “Home of Nashville Recording Artist Brett Eldredge.”

The vocalist started 2013 by opening 19 dates for Taylor Swift for on “The RED Tour,” shortly followed by joining Miranda Lambert and Dierks Bentley on their “Locked & Reloaded Tour.”

In August, Eldredge released his debut album, “Bring You Back,” and commemorated the occasion with appearances on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon,” “Today” and “Live with Kelly & Michael.”

An unforgettable year continued when his single “Don’t Ya” spent two weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart after 43 weeks. The afraid-of-heights singer celebrated the occasion with a well-documented skydiving trip with friends, family and label.

His upward momentum continued in the fall with a CMA nomination, a headlining club tour and an appearance in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Eldredge continues to be on pace for another big year in 2014. In January, he’ll join country superstar Keith Urban on his “Light the Fuse Tour” followed by spring dates with Billy Currington on his “We Are Tonight Tour.” His latest single, “Beat of the Music,” was most-added at country radio on its debut and just climbed inside the Top 30.

The Chicago Sun- Times recently described the Illinois native’s impressive vocals as “exud[ing] a magical combination of innocence and heartiness,” and Billboard noted “there is a touch of gravel in Eldredge’s voice which he presents with a commanding, soulful delivery.”

In addition, Warner Music Nashville President & CEO John Esposito raves, “Brett is a force of nature that one is lucky enough to bump into once in a lifetime. His powerful yet intimate voice stopped me in my tracks. I knew we had to sign him; that he would affect people in a profound way.”
