The fourth annual Linton Music Festival is scheduled Aug. 29-31 in Humphrey’s Park in Linton.
Over the course of three days, more than 30 national bands ranging from rock to country to blues and Dixieland jazz will display their talents on three different stages. Last year’s attendance topped 10,000 people. Organizers expect this year’s free event to pull in a larger crowd.
Last year’s festival involved a partnership with Astonish Records. That connection continues this year, with the label bringing No More Kings, Soular, and Aranda. Other confirmed artists for this year include Zachary Kale, John Adam Murph, Clay Cumbie, Jared Johnson, and Hightide Blues, the latter just off an appearance at Bonnaroo.
Additional confirmed acts include Kade Puckett, The MaRones, Backroads Band, Ponderosa, James Brown Car Alarm, Shadyside All Stars, Shaggy Wonda, Precore, Philpot, Terry Lee, Ken Tucker, Samurai Porkchop, No1Zero, Tenstrip, Shockwave, B-Town Bearcats, The Lucky Astrology Boys, Shockwave, and Ellusion.
Saturday night’s headliner will be Astonish Records’ No More Kings; Sunday will feature Jared Johnson, a recent contestant on CMT’s “Can You Duet?”
