Visit, learn about alpacas

News Release

St. Mary of the Woods — White Violet Farm Alpacas at St. Mary-of-the-Woods will join alpaca breeders across the United States and Canada in observance of the annual National Alpaca Farm Days with a special open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, outside, between Owens Hall and the alpaca pasture/barn.

This is an excellent opportunity to see the alpacas up close, see spinning and weaving demonstrations and shop for alpaca mittens, gloves, socks and handmade hats, scarves and needle-felted nativity scenes.

There will also be special activities for children, and adults can try the spinning wheel or table loom.

Other open houses planned in conjunction with Alpaca Farm Days include activities at Aris Farm Alpacas, Clinton (10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday), and Lookout Farm Alpacas, Terre Haute (10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday).

A list of alpacas for sale can be found at www.
