School corporation annual cookout set

TERRE HAUTE — For the tenth consecutive year, the Vigo County School Corp. Central Office is hosting a cookout Sept. 28 in its parking lot, 686 Wabash Ave., to benefit various charities. The organizations benefiting from this year’s fundraising effort will be The Shoe Bus and The Backpack Program.

Wendy’s will be providing the hamburgers and hot dogs. Baesler’s, Gordon Foods Marketplace, Starbucks, Thiemann’s and Pepsi Refreshment Services have also contributed generously to the cookout.

For $5, attendees will get a Wendy’s hamburger or hot dog, macaroni and cheese or baked beans, a bag of chips and a cookie. Employees of the administration building will be the hosts and the cooks, and entertainment will be provided by the WTHI 99.9 FM Radio van.

Fourteen schools have put together a wide variety of baskets for the themed basket raffle. Service will be from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
