Youth Orchestra to present concert
The Crossroads of America Youth Orchestra will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the Scottish Rite Temple in Terre Haute.
The concert, conducted by Paul Roby, will include The Stanley Petrulis Concerto Competition, with results announced at the end of the concert.
Three talented young Wabash Valley musicians, selected in a previous round of competition, will be featured as soloists with the orchestra.
Emily Forthun will perform the movement titled “La Chasse” from Ivan Khandoshkin’s Concerto in C major for viola and orchestra, Ian Cundiff will solo in the Rondo movement from Carl Maria von Weber’s Clarinet Concerto No. 1, and Tabitha Burchett will play the Allegro moderato movement from Henri Wieniawsk’s Violin Concerto No. 2.
The concert will close with Franz Lizst’s “Hungarian Rhapsody” No. 2.

Get home safe on St. Pat’s Day
The Terre Haute-based law office of Fleschner, Stark, Tanoos & Newlin, will provide the Safe and Sober Free Cab Home program during St. Patrick’s Day for those who have been drinking or who don’t feel they have a way to get home.
The Safe and Sober Free Cab Ride Home program will be available from 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, through 3 a.m. Wednesday, March 18.
To request a free cab ride home, individuals can call Yellow Cab of Terre Haute at (812) 478-5000 and tell them Fleschner Law is paying for their safe ride home.
Cab rides are provided to an individual’s residence in Terre Haute or West Terre Haute — not to other drinking locations. Because of the high number of ride requests on St. Patrick’s Day, rides cannot be guaranteed for everyone who calls; however, every attempt will be made to accommodate everyone who requests a ride home. Drivers have the right to use their discretion when accepting fares.
“Our main objective is to raise community awareness about the dangers of drunk driving and encourage individuals to make responsible choices by providing a safe transportation alternative,” said Steve Fleschner, attorney and co-founder of Fleschner, Stark, Tanoos & Newlin.
