Catholic Charities annual benefit Wednesday

TERRE HAUTE —
Catholic Charities Annual Benefit, featuring James T. Morris, president of the Indiana Pacers and former director of the United Nations World Food Programme, is 6 p.m. Wednesday in Idle Creek Golf Course and Banquet Center.
A silent auction will be followed by dinner and presentations at 7. The cost is $50 per person, $100 per couple or $500 for a table of 10.
The auction will benefit the programs of Catholic Charities Terre Haute: Ryves Youth Center, Food Bank, Bethany House and Christmas Store and Household Exchange. These four programs serve nearly 10,000 people each year and distribute almost 2 million pounds of food each year to charitable pantries in the Wabash Valley.
Morris will speak about his past and current experiences with poverty and community leadership and the importance of supporting organizations that fight hunger and poverty daily.
