Cummins-Nichols
Mr. and Mrs. H. Thomas Cummins announce the approaching marriage of their daughter, Katherine Therese Cummins, to John Scott Nichols, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Nichols.
The couple will exchange wedding vows on Nov. 8, 2008, in Meridian Street United Methodist Church in Indianapolis. A reception will follow in the Indiana State Museum.
The bride-elect is a 2002 graduate of Terre Haute North Vigo High School and a 2006 graduate of Butler University in Indianapolis with a bachelor’s degree in biology. She now attends Indiana University School of Dentistry.
Nichols is a 1999 graduate of North Central High School in Indianapolis. He is a 2003 graduate of Butler University with a bachelor’s degree in marketing, and is employed by Palmer Trucks of Indianapolis.
Cotton-Slaven
Sherry Cotton and David Slaven Jr. will be united in marriage at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 26, 2008, in Rock Church.
A reception will follow at Lost Creek Conservation Club in Seelyville.
Friends and relatives are invited.
The bride-elect is the daughter of the late Alice and Pearl Laycock. She is employed by Wal-Mart.
Slaven is the son of Sheila Smith and David Slaven Sr., both of Terre Haute. He is employed by Freitag & Weinhardt in Terre Haute.
Baxter-Pitts
Jaclyn Baxter of Rockville and Jack “P.J.” Pitts Jr. of Terre Haute will be united in marriage on Saturday, Aug. 2, 2008, in the Rockville Christian Church.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Karen and Gene Baxter of Rockville. She is a 2002 graduate of Rockville High School and a 2006 graduate of Indiana State University. She is employed by Riverton Parke High School and is a Mary Kay beauty consultant.
Pitts is the son of Sue and Jack Pitts of West Terre Haute and a 1994 graduate of West Vigo High School. He is employed by Pitts Hauling and officiates basketball and football.
Lowdermilk-Hodge
Emily Lowdermilk and Ryan Hodge will be united in marriage during a private ceremony at 3:30 p.m. Aug. 9, 2008, in The White Chapel at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
A reception will follow at 4:45 p.m. in the Plumbers and Steamfitters Recreation Hall, 8801 E. Milner Ave. Friends and relatives are invited.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Cindy Lowdermilk and the late Darrell Lowdermilk. She is a 2005 graduate of Clay City High School and is working toward a double major in accounting and financial services with a minor in forensic accounting at Indiana State University. She plans to graduate in December 2009.
Hodge is the son of Cheryl and Larry Hodge of Ellettsville. He is a 2004 graduate of The Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics and Humanities and a May 2008 graduate of Rose-Hulman with a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering. He is working on his master of science degree at Rose-Hulman and plans to graduate in December 2009.
Wisley-Padien
Lesley Ann Wisley of Terre Haute and Mark Richard Padien of Scituate, R.I., will be united in marriage on Aug. 16, 2008, in Savannah, Ga.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Karen and Jim Wisley of Terre Haute. She is a 1998 graduate of Terre Haute South Vigo High School, a 2002 graduate of Indiana State University with a bachelor of science degree in graphic design and exercise science, and a 2006 graduate of Savannah College of Art and Design with a master of fine arts degree in animation. She works in the animation industry in Los Angeles as a character designer and concept artist for Shadow Animation.
Padien is the son of Sue and Richard Padien of Scituate. He is a 1997 graduate of Scituate High School, a 2001 graduate of the University of Rhode Island with a bachelor of science degree in business administration, and is pursuing his master of business administration degree. After serving five years and completing two tours in Iraq as a U.S. Army officer, he now works in construction management for Atkinson Construction, a civil engineering company in Irvine, Calif.
