Vermillion County voters turned out in big numbers Tuesday to hand victories to Democrats up and down the ballot.
Nearly 64 percent of registered voters turned out in the mostly rural county, which includes the towns of Clinton and Newport.
Even the governor’s race — won statewide by Republican Gov. Mitch Daniels by a convincing margin – went to Democrat Jill Long Thompson in Vermillion County, 58 percent to 39 percent.
