Masterworks Chorale searching for vocalists
Indiana State University’s Masterworks Chorale, a community choir that serves the Wabash Valley, is looking for vocalists who love choral music and are interested in performing.
The 70- to 75-voice ensemble, which performs major choral works each semester, comprises Indiana State students, faculty and staff, and community members.

Sinfonietta Pops rehearsals begin, concert Feb. 9
The Sinfonietta Pops Orchestra has begun rehearsals for the second half of its concert season.
Music director James N. Chesterson encourages all string players in the Wabash Valley area to consider performing with the sinfonietta.

LTC’s ‘Sing Noel’ to present shows on Dec. 14, 15
Lincoln Trail College in Robinson, Ill., will present its annual Holiday Festival of Music at 7 p.m. Saturday at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Newton and again at 3 p.m. Sunday in LTC’s Zwermann Arts Center Theater.

‘From … the Wabash to Tin Pan Alley’ Nov. 16
The Indiana Theatre at Seventh and Ohio streets will be the site of “From the Banks of the Wabash to Tin Pan Alley” on Saturday. The program will pay tribute to Paul Dresser, the region’s most famous songwriter and enthusiast for the Wabash River.

Tickets are now on sale for the Yuletide Madrigal Feast, to be presented by the Indiana State University School of Music, Dec. 3-5 at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 215 N. Seventh St.
McGlone to perform Nov. 8, 20 in Oilfield
Marie McGlone, a 16-year-old from Marshall, Ill., earned first-place honors once again in the 11-to-19-year-old division of the Illinois State Fiddle Contest. She was awarded a first-place trophy, a commemorative traveling trophy/plaque and $100.
Fall Choral Showcase at ISU Nov. 8
The Indiana State University School of Music will present the Fall Choral Showcase Concert at 7:30 p.m. on Friday in the University Hall Theater.
The free concert will feature three choral ensembles.

Indiana State University music faculty member Randy Mitchell will perform at 7:30 p.m. today in Recital Hall of the Landini Center for Performing and Fine Arts at Seventh and Chestnut streets.
Jackson Township Band to honor veterans Nov. 11
The Jackson Township Community Band will perform two concerts honoring America’s military veterans on Monday.
The performances will be at 10:15 a.m. in the rotunda of the Clay County Courthouse during the annual Veterans Day program. Clay County veterans groups will also be on hand with speakers and a color guard.

Rob Waugh, principal trumpet of the Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra, will perform the famous “Hummel Trumpet Concerto” at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in Tilson Auditorium.

Pfreak Show releases album
The band Pfreak Show are no strangers to Terre Haute. Performing in the Wabash Valley over the last 10 years primarily as a cover band, they recently released a self-titled extended play album of original music.
Award-winning gospel singer to perform Oct. 27 in Brazil
Award-winning gospel singer Ryan Seaton from Evansville will be in concert at 10 a.m. Sunday in the First Church of the Nazarene at 1002 E. National Ave. in Brazil.
Symphony seeks essay entries by Oct. 30
All students in Vigo County are invited to submit an essay on “What music brings to my life.” Winners will receive a ticket for themselves plus four family members or friends to the Nov. 2 Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra concert and dinner for five at the Supper at the Symphony.
